Eighteenth century iron gates blocking a causeway across the Ha Ha recorded in field survey

Description

The National Trust Survey of Stowe undertaken in 1989 notes iron gates blocking a causeway across the Ha Ha. The trackway is flanked by 2 sections of railings on either side and stone piers. The spiked railings were themsleves topped with detachable spikes and match the pattern of railings found near the Boycott pavillions (B18).
