Description
The National Trust Survey of Stowe undertaken in 1989 noted that this is the former location of the Imperial Closet. Described as a massive sentry box decorated with paintings of Roman Emperors. Known to have been built in 1727 and demolished in the 1760s. The 1739 and 1777 estate maps also show a building in an enclosure to the east (B19).
