Description

Pedestal , 1.2m square, made of ironstone. Thought to be the remains of the replacement garden statue/feature put in place after for Grenville's column was removed in the 1750s. Sales catalogue notes a lead statue of two men fighting (probably Carpenter's Roman Wrestlers of 1723) on a square pedestal in the Grecian Valley. (18)
