Description

Artificial scarp believed to have been created during the landscaping of Oxford Drive and recorded on the National Trust's SMR 150317. (1)
The National Trust's Survey of Stowe undertaken in 1989 notes this features and gives its location as 25m E of the western Boycott Pavilion and running southwards for 100m along the edge of a small copse. It may have been created to level the ground for the building of the pavillion, but also to give the impresson that the Oxford Drive was running up a small valley to the pavillions (2).
