Type and Period (1)

  • HOUSE PLATFORM (Medieval - 1066 AD to 1539 AD)

Description

A house platform is visible and interpreted as part of the former Lamport settlement which may extend further south than the surviving earthworks suggest. The pottery finds (62 sherds) shows a concentration of medieval wares around the house platform and a low density spread across the rest of the field suggests an open field system. (1)
