Description

Small lead ?ingot or ?stamp, found by Tom Clark whilst metal detecting. Weight approx 1oz. Inscribed 'SACRISTATUSM' in retrograde lettering - '[for the] sacristy'? Possibly stamp used for marking liturgical apparatus or the property of the sacristy or sacristan? Possibly a die for a RB pottery stamp, but too big and doesn't look like Roman lettering (B6).
