Description

Detailed building recording of stable block (block 8) carried out by Nicky Smith of BCMAS in August 1997 identified 5 main building phases. The stables appeared to have been constructed in the late 15th or early 16th century, but had undergone much later repairs, alterations and refurbishments which had obscured or destroyed earlier features (B12).
Buildings report dated September 1997 held at NMR (B17).
