Description
Evaluation test pit 1 dug prior to site redevelopment revealed evidence for medieval occupation including a ditch/drain & land boundary and 3 fragments of late C11 to C14 pottery. Also stake/post holes and a wall foundation comprising in-situ flint cobbles, thought to be an internal wall partition due to lack of foundation cut. 2 further test pits (2 & 3) inside the barn were negative (B6).
