MR ERIC THROSSELL, ARCHITECT REFURBISHING HARTWELL HOUSE, NOTES FIREPLACE PRECEDING PRESENT BUILDING AND AREA OF PAVING (BRICK?) DURING RENOVATION WORK. BELIEVED THIS INDICATES THE SITE OF AN EARLIER HOUSE, ROUGHLY FALLNG TO SOUTH WITHIN WINGS OF LATER BUILDING (B14).
