Description

A fairly dense area of Roman tile, including flue tile, from an area c.10m across, noted by Tom Clark whilst metal detecting in June 1996 and reported to Mike Farley of BCM. Sample of tile and pottery from area collected and presented to BCM. Pottery includes 7 sherds of colour coat, 1 amphora rim, 1 mortarium sherd, 4 misc sherds, 7 bases, and 1 base sherd with a lead patch. Also 1 'alien' stone (B8).
