OVAL PIT, 5.8M SE OF CENTRAL DATUM. PIT CONTAINED NOTHING IN FILL, BUT SIZE, CONSTRUCTION & APPEARANCE WERE SO SIMILAR TO SAXON CREMATION PITS & SO UNLIKE OTHER FEATURES ON SITE THAT IT PROBABLY DATES FROM THIS PERIOD (B1).
