GRADE II. LATE C19 FORMAL GARDENS & WOODLAND. FORMAL GARDENS ON NW SIDE OF HOUSE, WITH SYMMETRICAL LAYOUT ALIGNED ON GARDEN FRONT OF HOUSE. TERRACE WITH BALUSTRADE & URNS, CIRCULAR POOL WITH CENTRAL SCULPTURE & FOUNTAIN. ITALIAN GARDEN 150M N, SURROUNDED BY YEWS. SUMMERHOUSE, WATER GARDEN ETC.[FURTHER DETAIL & MAP](B10).

Included in English Heritage's Heritage at Risk Register. In 2009 condition described as 'extensive significant problems' with high vulnerability and trend is deteriorating; in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 described as 'extensive significant problems' with high vulnerability but trend is stable (B14,B17-18,B20-21,B23-25,B28-30).
The Rothchilds developed trackways suitable for use by carriages. Many extant today (B19).
Pulhamite work installed in 1883 for Alfred Rothschild (B22).
