FOLLOWING REPORT OF A CAVITY, VISIT SHOWED IT TO BE A SHAFT C.2M DIAMETER, C.3M DEEP. UPPER 2M BRICK-LINED, LOWER CUT INTO CHALK. LOOSE FILL ON BASE. LOWER BRICKS ARE STRETCHERS, NARROWER THAN UPPER (REBUILD?) - MAINLY HEADERS. AN IRON LADDER FIXED TO MODERN CAPPING DESCENDS TO BASE. POSSIBLE ICE HOUSE? DATED BY BRICK SHAPE: C18/C19. POSITION IS APPROXIMATE AS NEW BUILDINGS CONSTRUCTED TO N SINCE PUBLICATION OF LATEST MAPS (B1).
