Plan Form - SUBRECTANGULAR
CELLAR BENEATH BLOCK B1 IS OF VERY EARLY DATE, EVEN OF C13/C14 CONSTRUCTION? IT WOULD HAVE FUNCTIONED AS A TAVERN, WITH SHOPS ABOVE AT GROUND LEVEL. SHORT LENGTHS OF TRANSVERSE STONE WALLING TO SUPPORT THE TIMBER CILLS OF THE FRONT WALL INDICATE THE SHOP WAS OF 3 BAYS. ACCESS VIA STAIRS TO SHOP (B9).
