Description
Grade II+. House. Circa 1700, refurbished 1970s. Flint and brick, the front of finely knapped and coursed flint with brick dressings. Old tile M roof. Flanking brick chimneys, that to right rebuilt. Double pile. 2 storeys and attic, 5 bays. Front has broad brick quoins and bonded vertical strips flanking windows; off-set plinth, chequered first floor band course, later moulded wooden eaves cornice. 3-pane boxed sashes, all renewed, those to ground floor with segmental heads. Central flush-panelled door with rectangular fanlight, shouldered architrave surround and moulded cornice hood on cut scroll brackets, all renewed C20 but in imitation of original fragments. Barred wooden casements to gables and rear. Later brick lean-to to rear left. Interior: front left room has early-mid C18 panelling. Highly graded for fine quality of front (B1).
