CAVITY EXPOSED IN DIGGING SOAKAWAY. DETAILED INSPECTION NOT POSSIBLE BUT SEEMED TO EXTEND 1.5M N & W OF OPENING: A COLLAPSED CONE BLOCKED E EXTENT. PLAN-FORM POSSIBLY SUBSQUARE. 1.5M HIGH. WHOLE CUT INTO SOLID CHALK. INTERPRETATION: NATURAL COLLAPSE?, CHALK WELL?; SOAKAWAY?; ICE HOUSE? (PLAN, SECTION)(B12).
