Description

AN OLD MANOR HOUSE...WHERE ONCE STOOD ANOTHER FORTRESS. EXTENSIVE FOUNDATIONS HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED IN THE GROUNDS, AND EVERYTHING INDICATES THAT HERE WERE BUILDINGS OF GREAT STRENGTH AND IMPORTANCE AND OF AN EARLY DATE (B2).
DISTURBED GROUND FAINTLY VISIBLE ON 1950 RAF APS AT SP694083 & SP692083. THE GROUNDS ARE UNDER PASTURE BUT SUGGESTIONS OF PLATFORMS AND FIELDS INDICATE THAT THEY COVER PART OF THE VILLAGE OF LONG CRENDON - NOTHING MORE SIGNIFICANT (B7). NGR to disturbed ground noted by OS.
