Description
Grade II. C1830 country house, altered C1900. Stucco with hipped low slate roof over- hanging at eaves in centre. Two storey with 3-window curved bays with top balustrades at each end and plain 6-window range in centre. Sash windows. To rear a projecting wing with C1900 open pedimented porch and a long rear wing to right, of lesser interest. The interiors are mainly of C1900 and include an elaborate oak-panelled Jacobean style entrance hall with staircase. The fireplace is genuine C17 stone, ornate overmantel. The house belonged to the Earl of Sefton (B1).
