Damaged by fire on 31st December 2007 (B2).
Historic building recording carried out in December 2009 and January 2010 and a watching brief during demolition in June 2013 and August 2015 by Archaeological Solutions concluded that house was probably built about 1600, with a jettied front and side, stair turret and a rear service wing. Traces of painted decoration survived on a single roof timber. The building was remodelled in the 18th century when chimney stacks were added and the the jetties underbuilt in brick. In the early 19th century a second rear wing was added, the building rendered and sash windows inserted in the main frontage. See report for detail (B3).
Negative watching brief carried out by Archaeological Solutions in April and August 2015 during groundworks for foundations of replacement building (B5).
De-listed on 12th November 2019 for the following principal reasons:
Degree of Architectural Interest - the building has been extensively rebuilt following fire damage and dilapidation, and it no longer retains sufficient architectural or historic interest to be retained on the List.
Degree of Group Value - the building has some group interest with surrounding structures in this part of Wendover, and it is included in a conservation area, but this does not outweigh the loss of historic fabric (B6).
