Description
Grade II. Two attached barns forming L shaped block. Dated 1846. Red brick with some blue headers. Old tiled roof hipped at S.E. corner. Weathervane on E. gable. Gabled projections in centre of S. and W. elevations, each with a small door, that on W. approached by a flight of brick steps with brick parapets. Built on a steep slope, with double plinths to the outer S. & W. walls. The N. & E. elevations to the former farmyard have pairs of diamond shaped honeycomb brick ventilators, at regular intervals. The N. wall has a stable door to LH cart doors and a smaller pair of doors at high level. The E. wall has 2 cart doors and a stable door to RH. A stone tablet set into the S. wall facing the lane is inscribed "BUILT BY J. PARROT 1846". Interior has raking queenpost trusses (B1).
