IN 1325 JOHN DE CHEDDINGTON LICENSED TO BUILD AN ORATORY HERE. JUST WITHOUT MOAT A PLOT OF C.1 ACRE IS CALLED CHAPEL YARD & GROUND HIGHER HERE (= INTERMENTS?). PIECES OF TOTTERNHOE STONE OF NORMAN WORK IN LOCAL HOUSES, FROM CHAPEL? (B1-3).
