Plan Form - SUBRECTANGULAR
DURING ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF SITE REMAINS OF AT LEAST 11 TANNING PITS WERE FOUND. MOST WERE SUBRECTANGULAR WITH NEAR VERTICAL SIDES & FLAT BOTTOMS. 1 WAS STONE LINED; AT LEAST 1 HAD HAD WOOD PLANK LINING. 2 PITS CONTAINED TANNING DEPOSITS IN SITU. HORN CORES WERE ALSO FOUND (SEE REPORT)(B1).
