Description

AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF LAND NEAR THE OUSE REVEALED EVIDENCE FOR A TANNERY, OPERATING FROM EARLY C18 TO MID C19: SEVERAL TANNING PITS WERE RECORDED. NO SAXON OR MEDIEVAL FEATURES (EG THE BURH) WERE RECORDED. SEVERAL TANNERIES ARE RECORDED IN PREBEND END FROM 1704-C.1870 (SEE REPORT)(B1).
