Description

AREA OF SLAG THROWN UP BY EXCAVATION OF A BANK & DITCH (CASS 2435:02). THIS SLAG MAY BE ASSOCIATED WITH A ROMANO-BRITISH IRON SMELTING INDUSTRY. THE ACTUAL IRON WORKING AREA MAY BE MUCH MORE EXTENSIVE THAN CAN BE IDENTIFIED ON THE GROUND (SEE ALSO 00-0 1:000; CASS 5762:03)(B1-2).
