A FISHPOND WITH A SPRING AT ITS HEAD LIES TO NW BUT IS NOW DRY (B3).

A probable fishpond of medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on the west side of Lower Far, Stoke Mandeville, and centred at SP 82708 10438. The earthwork is trapezoidal in shape and measures 45x10m at its largest. It is situated on the west side of a dry moat which surrounds the farm house (see MBC1408) and can be clearly seen on aerial photographs and lidar visualisations. The Epoch 1 Ordnance Survey map shows the pond as subrectangular. (5-6)
