FORMER ICEHOUSE CUT INTO SIDE OF CHALK PIT. REMEMBERED LOCALLY C.1940 AS ROOMY PLACE. NO INTERNAL STRUCTURES. DOOR NOT QUITE FULL HEIGHT & SET IN BRICKED AREA. FLOOR INSIDE SLOPED DOWN. CHALK PIT FILLED IN C.1965 BY WILTON PARK GOLF CLUB (B1).
REFERENCES TO MEN WORKING IN ICEHOUSE, C.1880 (B2).
A hexagonal structure is marked on 1st edition 25-inch OS map - presumably the ice house. NGR to this.
