Description

POSS OCCUPATION HORIZON RECORDED A LITTLE ABOVE THE NATURAL CHALK & BELOW A LAYER OF POST-MEDIEVAL DUMPING. THIS DEPOSIT HERE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH FINDS AT HERON COTTAGE ETC UPSTREAM [CAS 04414, 04415 & 04538] SUGGEST THE AREA OF THE STREAM TO CHURCH & MANOR WAS THE PRINCIPAL MEDIEVAL OCCUPATION ZONE OF THE VILLAGE (B1).
