Description

Domesday mill worth 8 shillings, on Stoke Hammond manor (B1).
Lease of farm of mill mentioned 1467-8 (B3).
Mill descended with the manor to Sir John Williams. The mill house with some 70 acres of land was held in chief of the Crown by William Turney at his death in 1610, when it passed to his son, John (B2).
1693 deeds mention 'mill house', probably on site of/adjacent Bridge Farm, at NGR. Other refs (B4).
