Description

Directories: 1887 'Mead W, Shredding Green, brickmaker & farmer'; 1895-1911 'Mead W & Co Ltd, brickmakers & farmer' (B3).
Although the site of the brickworks at Shredding Green is unknown, prehistoric artefacts are recorded from 'Meads Bridge Pit' at NGR (See 02395)(B4).
Closest brickworks to Shredding Green, shown on 1900 2nd edition OS map, but apparently disused by 1924, are at NGR.
