GIFFARD FAMILY WERE SETTLED IN WHADDON, C13. IN 1278-9 ROBERT GIFFARD HELD LAND HERE; THE ORIGINS OF LATER GIFFARD MANOR. OLD MANOR HOUSE OF GIFFARDS & PIGOTTS LATER CALLED WHADDON HALL (B2- HAS MANORIAL HISTORY). NGR TO WHADDON HALL (B1 & B4).
