Description

MAGDELEN COLLEGE MANOR DEVELOPED OUT OF GRANTS OF LAND FROM THE WOLVERTON FEE ORIGINALLY MADE TO ST JOHN'S HOSPITAL, OXFORD. MANOR FARM BELONGS TO MAGDELEN COLLEGE [Manorial history](B2 (1927)).
NGR TO 'MANOR FARM' (B5).
Trial trenching carried out by Oxford Archaeology in July 2008 in the garden south of the house recorded a probable late medieval or early post-medieval ploughsoil beneath a modern made-ground or landscaping deposit. No earlier evidence was identified. See report for detail (B7).
