MANOR HAS ALWAYS BELONGED TO PRINCIPAL MANOR & RECTORY. RESIDENCE OF WOODNOTH FAMILY, C18. ON SITE OF ROBERT DE FRESNE'S CAPITAL MESSUAGE, PASSED TO LUFFIELD PRIORY 1303? (B2).
NB; PRIORY'S PROPERTY IN THORNBOROUGH CALLED FRAYNISPLACE; HAD HALL WITH PARLOUR & SOLAR, & DOVECOTE, BYRE &C (LEASE, 1378)(B5).
