Description
Cropmarks on aerial photo depict a broad ring in the centre of an oblong area of disturbance. The whole could represent infilled quarrying (B1).
Features sketch plotted at 1:2500 (poor control points on APs)(B2).
A collection of worked flint was gathered whilst carrying out a field evaluation of the pipeline's route across Mansfield Farm, Iver. A total of 733 humanly struck flints were recovered (584 flakes, 106 blades, 33 cores, and 10 tools). It is suggested that the assemblage is more reminiscent of tool production than tool use. A further 77 humanly struck flints were recovered during topsoil stripping for pipeline construction (64 flakes, 3 blades, 3 cores, and 7 tools). The assemblage was judged to be comparable to that found during fieldwalking (B3).
