Description
Grade II. Stables and garage with hayloft above. Early C16, altered mid C18. Gable walls have heavy timber framing with diagonal braces and later brick infill. Front rebuilt in chequer brick with moulded brick plinth and eaves, and corner pilasters with red brick quoins. Old tile roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Left bay has C20 casement to left, stable door with barred rectangular fanlight to right, and barred wooden window above door. Both ground floor openings have segmental heads. Right bay has garage entry, and hayloft door above. Lean-to to rear. Interior: roof has curved wind-braces, original principals and some heavy ordinary rafters, and central truss with tie beam and arch-braced collar. Intermediate trusses altered (B3).
