EXCAVATION OF SOUTHERNMOST DITCH (DYKE VI) DESCRIBED, SECTION DRAWING PUBLISHED. SOIL & MOLLUSC SAMPLES FROM DEEPEST PART OF DITCH SUGGESTS IT WAS DUG IN OPEN ARABLE COUNTRY. POSSIBLE PURPOSE & DATE OF DITCH DISCUSSED & TENTATIVE RELATIONSHIPS, HISTORIC PARISHES/PREHISTORIC LAND MANAGEMENT SUGGESTED (B5).
