ST MARY'S CHURCH OCCUPIES AREA PARTLY ENCLOSED BY WATER FILLED DITCH, WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN A BAILEY OF THE MOTTE TO THE SOUTH (CASS 06367:03). THIS FORMS PART OF THE BOUNDARY OF THE CHURCHYARD (B7).
