MISSENDEN ABBEY OBTAINED GRANTS OF LANDS IN WENDOVER C12 & C13. AT DISSOLUTION GREATER PART OF THIS GRANTED IN FEE IN 1540 & 1543 TO SIR MICHAEL DORMER - SEEMS PROBABLE THAT THESE MAY BE IDENTIFIED WITH MANOR OF MARTINS OR MAYERTORNE MANOR REMAINED WITH DORMERS UNTIL LATE C17 (B1).
