MANOR OF TURVILLE ST ALBANS GRANTED IN 796 BY ECGFRID, KING OF MERCIANS, TO ST ALBANS ABBEY, FOUNDED 3 YEARS EARLIER. ABBEY SURRENDERED IN 1539. BY C17 IT WAS IN POSSESSION OF DORMERS. BY 1721 OWNERSHIP DIVIDED INTO SIXTHS. 1 PART, INCLUDING TURVILLE PARK, OWNED BY PERRY FAMILY IN C18 (B1).
