Description

UNDER EDWARD THE CONFESSOR HELD BY STIGAND, PROBABLY AS BISHOP OF WINCHESTER. REMAINED WITH BISHOPS OF WINCHESTER UNTIL 1551 WHEN GIVEN TO THE CROWN. SAME YEAR ROYAL GRANT MADE TO SIR HENRY SEYMOUR. 1552 SIR ROBERT DORMER APPEARS AS HIS TENANT. REMAINS IN DORMER FAMILY DOWN TO 1670, THEN DASHWOODS (B3).
