Description
Early C12 nave, & foundations of apse said to have been found. Chancel arch rebuilt c.1190 & larger chancel c.1340. W tower C16. Church restored & S porch added 1886; whole building restored again 1906. Good C14 window glass in chancel. E & S chancel walls: modern flint facing & N wall plastered (B1-8).
Grade I. Parish Church of Hitcham. C12 nave; C14 chancel. C16 tower. Flint rubble and red brick. Chancel windows with some original stained glass. Fine white marble monument, 1624. RCHM I, pp 203-205; VCH III, p 233-235 (B4).
