Description

AT TIME OF DISCOVERY, NO BARROW STOOD OVER THE BURIAL. BUT THE OXON-BUCKS COUNTY BOUNDARY HERE TAKES A SUDDEN, SHARP-STEPPED TURN, AS IF TO AVOID AN OBSTRUCTION, SO SUCH A MOUND MIGHT HAVE EXISTED (B4).
LOCAL INHABITANT STATES THERE WAS NO MOUND IN FIELD BEFORE HOUSE WAS BUILT (LATE C19)(B9).
