Description

Grade II. Obelisk. Early C18 perhaps by James Gibbs, originally closer to south front of Hartwell House, moved further away but still on south axis, probably mid C18 when it may also have been truncated. Ashlar stone on square base with moulded plinth, vermiculated panel and moulded cornice. Moulded base to obelisk which is surmounted by a carved stone urn.
