Description
Dimensions - Length 11 km.
Plan Form - Linear.
Aylesbury Railway Co formed 10th November 1835 to connect Aylesbury with London-Birmingham Railway at Cheddington. Construction began 12th May 1838; public opening 10th June 1839. Plans to extend to, eg, Oxford never executed. Only intermediate station: Marston Gate (in Hertfordshire) [Full description] (B1).

Opened 10th June 1839 with 3 daily return trains. Passenger services ceased 2nd February 1953; line closed completely with ending of freight traffic on 2nd December 1963. [Full illustrated history of line](B5).
