VISIT RE MANAGEMENT OF SITE: COMPLEX IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND. 'BAILEY' N OF CASTLE LANE IS ON HIGHER GROUND & SMALLER THAN SITE TO S. COULD THIS NORTHERN SITE BE THE REMNANT OF A MOTTE OR RINGWORK, TO WHICH A BAILEY (S OF CASTLE LANE) WAS APPENDED? A STONE CURTAIN WALL IS FEASIBLE (B11).
