Description

DENHAM DURDENT MANOR PROBABLY ORIGINATED IN LAND HELD IN C12 AS HALF A FEE OF THE ABBOT OF WESTMINSTER. MANOR TOOK ITS DISTINCTIVE NAME FROM THE DURDENTS, OF WHOM ANGODUS DURDENT WAS TENANT IN 1166. IN 1511 DENHAM DURDENT WAS GRANTED TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE SAVOY HOSPITAL (MANORIAL HISTORY)(B1-2).
