Description

Plan Form - Linear.
Grove strongly defended by curtain wall (B6).
Owner asserts that during recent work no trace of curtain wall on W side of inner moat found (B1, note 7).
Included in Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register in 2015-2024 due to serious structural issues with the walls. A grant was offered by Historic England to understand the extent and cost of the condervation works needed, but was not accepted. Further proposals are awaited from the owner. Condition described as very bad and priority category A: 'Immediate risk of further rapid deterioration or loss of fabric; no solution agreed' (B16-25).
