Monument record 0026100000 - 1-3 MARKET STREET AYLESBURY

Summary

Orginally one timber framed building of around 1600, built to an L-plan. The main range was to the east, with a wing of two storeys and attic to the south west. Late in the 17th century another wing was added parallel with the original one. In the early 18th Century the east front was removed and replaced with a brick facade. The east range was raised to a height of three storeys (and attic), and was re-foofed.The roof is tiled. In the 19th century the building was divided into two and the ground floors were turned into shops.
