Description
MATERIAL COLLECTED DURING FIELDWALKING; AREA DIVIDED UP INTO ZONES DEFINED AS AREA 1, 2 ETC.(SEE SKETCHED POSITION OF ZONES ON FILED MAP). TOTAL FLINTS=SOME POSS MESOLITHIC, SOME NEOLITHIC; NOTHING OBVIOUSLY EBA. POTTERY NEGLIGIBLE (B1).
Flints have been found at the following locations in the general area of SP724074:
A. SP72190747. Over fifty struck flakes, two end-scrapers, a core-trimming flake and two retouched blades, the majority of the flints being Neolithic, but some may be Mesolithic.
B. SP72460723. Thirty-four struck flakes, a core-trimming flake, two scrapers and a notched blade.
C. SP72670793. Neolithic or Early Bronze Age end-scraper.
D. SP72490778. Nine struck flakes and two end-scrapers (B2).
