Description

AREA 3 'COWFIELD'. FOUND WERE A NUMBER OF FLAKES (03:001), ONE CORE (03:002), ONE ?BORER (03:003) AND TWO SCRAPERS (03:004)(B1).

NGR to centre of field.
Evaluation trial trenching carried out by MoLA from August to October 2010 identified a number of late prehistoric features including ditch terminals (Trenches 8, 9 and 21), a ditch (Trench 9), a possible eaves drip gully (Trench 6), and pits (Trenches 9 and 10), interpreted as a possible settlement. Several of the features were dated by stratified finds of Neolithic to Bronze Age flintwork. See report for detail (B5).
