TRADITION SAYS IVINGHOE WAS ASSIZE TOWN & ASSIZES WERE HELD IN HOUSE AT BROOK END NAMED 'THE COURT HOUSE'. DEMOLISHED SOME YRS AGO; HAD 4 DORMER WINDOWS & IMAGES UNDER EACH, SAID TO BE OF MOSES, ABRAHAM, ZACHARIA & JOB. HISTORIANS DON'T MENTION ASSIZES HERE (B1).
